I drink liquor almost every night til I am ready to goto bed. I've looked up different detox facilities and have given them my insurance an information to get ready and go in. The withdrawals really scare me and are not easy to deal with, there's even a chance you can die from alcohol withdrawal. I dunno if I will ever be comfortable enough to really show up. Any help?

Everything has to do with your mind and how you choose to take it in. You got to believe that this detox facility will help you. If you get active and stick to a healthy diet then the withdrawals won't be as intense.

You just gotta develop a positive attitude and don't get scared. Take it one day at a time and you will be fine.

I wish you the best.

I really get the fears you are having. I think you will be in good hands at a detox center though. You are right, withdrawal from alcohol can be dangerous; and even fatal. However, you will be detoxing at a place under supervision from medical professionals. So, I don't think you have anything to worry about. That's what they are there for. They know exactly what they are doing and will do if to make everything as comfortable as possible for you. That is one of the huge advantages of going to a detox center, instead of white knuckling it yourself.

You've taken a huge step in your recovery.

Sending you positive, sober, encouraging vibes your way. You can do it!
